Strength and Balance for Seniors
FREE COMMUNITY CLASS
Tuesdays 10.40am-11am
Duration: 20mins (and then join us on our weekly health walk).
Would you like to come on our health walks but are worried about your fitness levels? Concerned about falls? Not as sturdy on your feet as you used to be? Then this may just be the place to start!
· Strengthen your muscles
· Improve your balance
· Keep enjoying the activities of daily living!
In a small group, Louisa (Yoga teacher and Strength & Balance leader) will safely teach you 10 simple exercises to improve your strength & balance and help you to stay active and independent in everyday life. The sequence also includes 4 seated exercises for frailer adults.
These simple exercises are based on the ‘Otago falls prevention program’ and are suitable for any age and can help people become more active.
‘Maintaining strength and balance can help adults live active and independent lives with reduced risk of falls. It can also help people living with long term health conditions to become more active and to self-manage their condition’
